OUR MISSION


The Four Mile Lake Association Incorporated (FMLA) mission is to preserve, promote, and protect the beauty and integrity of Four Mile Lake and the surrounding area. This includes the following objectives:
 

  • To preserve and protect the present character and beauty of Four Mile Lake and of the surrounding district

  • To promote, wherever feasible, the enhancement of the natural attractions of the Four Mile Lake area

  • To oppose, wherever feasible, conditions or developments in the area conducive to pollution, and

  • To support the Four Mile Lake Community through events and social activities that enhance the quality of life on the lake

  • To engage in any other issue(s) that, in the opinion of the Board, is/are in the best interest of the Association and its members

OUR COMMUNITY

 

Our community includes property owners and their families on Four Mile Lake including seasonal and full time residents. The FMLA works with local businesses to help both the businesses succeed and to enable our members to enjoy their products and services. Our community also includes local organizations such as the Coboconk-Norland Chamber of Commerce. We interact on behalf of our members with various organizations and officials such as the City of Kawartha Lakes, Kawartha Conservation, Ministry of Environment, Public Health Unit, OPP, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. FMLA is also a member of the Federation of Ontario Cottagers Associations (FOCA).

WHAT WE DO

  • Provide communication forums to our members to enhance their quality of life on the lake

  • Advocacy for key issues around the lake and our community

  • Provide tools for members such as our Members Handbook and Website

  • Provide forums for social activities around the lake

  • Support our local community
